Have just turned 27 and while jogging I can feel by every
passing day that I am getting older. More over when my Ma asks me “Ricky when
are you getting married” it beats the shit out of me. Most of my friends are
getting married, and what so ever be the case people do change after getting
married, Responsibility and Shit.
I don’t deny that I don’t want to get married, but things are
a little different now; the most important part I am not answerable to anyone. Though life in service sector is
tough, but one can always take out time to do what he wants to do in life. I
don’t want to be famous like Ambani or Birla but I also don’t want to die a
common person’s life; cribbing about everyday expenses, spending whole of my
life planning for future. What so ever be the case we are humans and we can
never be satisfied. I only believe in contingency planning which I will always
take care of. Rest ******!
The list is not about the places where you will go for
relaxing it’s more like an adventure, of course I can’t match Bear Grylls
adventures, but yeah more or less.
Life is
a journey but what’s a journey if it’s not adventurous. There is so
much to do in the world rather just sightseeing and relaxing.
I have covered almost all of North India: Almost the whole of
Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal (except Dharamshala). South of India
will be done soon. But India is not what I want to discover now.
The bucket list is more of a travel bucket list and has
places where I would like to go and enjoy what the nature has in store. It’s
more or less like bag packing kind of thing which I have always dreamt of. As
it is said “Life is a Trip but it doesn’t
come with a map”
Here are some places I would like to discover:
1)Interlaken, Switzerland.
What Do I do When I go There: Paragliding, River rafting,
Canyoning, Ice Climbing and Glacier Bungee jumping.
Total expenses will be not less than 1.5 lakhs that includes
the flight tickets. Cheap hotels and accommodation is easily available. A whole
bunch of adrenaline sports are offered through the guide groups.
Sky Diving: Funrental Interlaken offers helicopter or plane jumps including 4000 meters in 40 seconds free fall jumps.
Sledging: The best but also most challenging sledging is from the Faulhorn to Grindelwald. Killer one.
2) The Underwater Caves of The
Riviera Maya,
Mexico
What Do I do when I go There: Scuba diving mainly
The city of Juarez, Mexico is nestled right next to ElPaso, Texas and it is the murder capital of the world, so it has to have the best of the prison and why will I miss the chance of not clicking a photo, being such a die hard fan of Prison break
The Riviera Maya has the World’s three
longest running underwater Cave Systems. The underwater caves have been rated
as the best cave diving of the world.
One of most popular cenote sites in the
Riviera Maya, Gran cenote is part of the system Sac-Aktun which means “Cave” in
Maya. Good buoyancy control is required if you are diving here with as the
walls are heavy with the formations. Maximum depth of 21 meters/70 feet, which
will be a killer experience for novice like me.
3)Usuaia, Argentina.
What Do I do when I go There: Husky sleigh rides, Scuba in
the southern sea and cruise to Antarctica.
It’s not somewhere where everyone would not like to go as it is kind of remote and cold.

Ushuaia has countless great possibilities for bag packers and not to miss scuba diving is indeed one of the most attractive.
The natural conditions
make these activities unique in this city. But there are incredible unknown
sites to explore. The one that attracts me is the shipwrecks lying in this cold
southern sea in silence.
Of course Antarctica is out of the budget as of now, but
Ushuaia is the place from where most of the voyages to Antarctic Peninsular
region leave. Penguins, Ice breaker ships, breath taking views, undoubtedly it
has to be an out of the world kind of experience.
4) Run the Mont Blanc Circuit Ultramarathon :
Running has been something which
has always been close to my heart. So what can be better than just going on a
running spree on the Mountains!
I guess the credit goes to discovery channel. The programme
just caught my attention and I decided this has to happen.
5)Paddle
the Bashkaus River:
Have been to Rishikesh
a trillion times, have jumped in the rapids, the fear of level 3,4 and 5 rapids
has almost vanished. So the next level of adventure can be seen in Siberia
where the water tumbles 32 feet per mile for 130 miles. Just to compare
Colarado river drops 8 feet per mile. I always thought Colarado River is the
place to be until I discovered this weird sounding river in Siberia.
As told by people it is one of the toughest but at the same
time toughest things have the most rewarding experience. I know I am still
novice to go to this place but I guess trainers are found everywhere in the
world and I am an obedient student.
6) Trekking The Himalayas-
I don’t think I need to write anything about the Himalayas.
The very feeling of even reaching the base camp gives Goosebumps. I don’t know
if I am fit enough to go there but this will always be something I would like
to do
7) Descend
into an active volcano:
Vanuatu, South Pacific, Marum
Volcano
Nat Geo is a Bitch. This was not in my list and perhaps would
have never came in my mind until this sick ass on the show said that “Just
because something is insane doesn’t means that it’s impossible” and he
descended in an active volcano.
I don’t know what pleasure will I get from this view but sometimes
sanity needs to take a back seat.
There are many other places I would like to go like
Nicaragua, Micronesia, Florida, The Amazon river, Ibiza etc but for now I guess
these are the top of my mind. Even if I get to go in one of these places within
a year or so I will consider myself lucky .
